Earthquake lines

Illinois sits on an earthquake fault line. Because of this, we may feel very small earthquakes if we are still enough.  For example, my mom said when she was in high school the pictures started rattling on the wall at night and the next morning she heard on the radio that there was a small earthquake by her house! I think we are near a transform boundary.

    I remember there being a small earthquake around here about 10 years ago! Crazy! You're right, it's because of a fault line. But not because of a transform boundary. The tectonic plates are a bit more complicated that we've learned...you'll learn about that in another grade level! :) One point extra credit for you!
